Introduction
The gearbox is the heart of your blaster, and will determine your blaster's feel and performance. In this post, we will talk about the two main gearboxes that you can find in our catalogue that can be fitted into most of our competition-grade builds.
ATM Blowback (Max edition)
Fans who seek the realest, purest form of firing, look no further than the ATM Max blowback system. This gearbox system (specifically ours) features a reinforced nylon lower fitted with an upgraded sector gear and electronics to improve both durability and firing response. The upper assembly features a reciprocating metal bolt that chambers a round during operation, which is what gives the ATM gearbox the "blowback" experience. Due to this, the ATM Max system requires more frequent, but straightforward servicing (Watch video here). ATM gearboxes also feature a safety feature similar to real steel bolts, where the bolt will "lock back" due to an empty magazine or a gel ball misfeeding due to incorrect sizing. This also makes the bolt release and charging handle a functional item on your blasters equipped with the ATM Max gearboxes. When it comes to performance, the ATM gearboxes generally feature stable performance about FPS and grouping without extensive tuning
